As a child of the 1980's (no I wasn't BORN in the 1980's but it was the era in which I did the majority of my maturing) I am a HUGE HUGE fan of rollerskating.
When I ran across this place I actually let out a squeak.
This place reminds me so much of Broyles Arena in Pittsfield, MA. My family has a house in that area and we used to spend every weekend up there.Every weekend my sister and I could be found lacing up our skates and zooming around the rink to Van Halen's "Jump".
We would spend HOURS skating, only taking breaks to scoot to the snack bar to get our favorite treat: a Slush Puppy. My house was a no sugar zone so the Slush Puppy was something we looked forward to with great anticipation and delight.
You see this rink has a slush puppy machine.... I might faint from the happiness.
I TOTALLY get that rollerskating is a bit of a dinosaur these days but this rink could be an amazing place if marketed right.
Theme nights, black light skating, jazz up the food offerings, see about getting a liquor license. (Happy parents mean their kids skate more!)
It's AWESOME and I'd love to own it!
