Red Bank

Well, as predicted I'm in love with the Red Bank baby.
She's got so much potential.
Her asking price is $399,900 but the Realtor thinks the owner would jump on any offer made because she just wants out.
She has 5 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens.
Here is the virtual tour

Sigh...

Really and truly I'm starting to feel like someone is toying with me. We are BACK to NJ again because Mike doesn't want to pay the taxes in upstate NY.
I like this little yellow house but the Red Bank baby is still my front runner...

Just a little different

Since I can remember I've had a "thing" about making structures that aren't designed to be homes, into well, homes.
In my house hunting I found this amazing beauty. It's 1,000 sq feet of open "loft" space. It's beautiful both inside and out!

My tiny apartment

I realized I've told you how small my apartment is but I've never showed you. Telling you it's 700 sq feet might not mean anything. Bear in mind we are a family of 4 people plus a dog living here...

If you come in the front door and turn right, this is what you see.

If you turn left you see the master bedroom. This is it. Our bed takes up the whole room.
Our closet and laundry.
Standing with the front door to my back you see the bathroom and all the toilets and potties...

Here is the kitchen with our two computers
The sink, micro and dishwasher. That counter is the only counter space in the entire apartment.

The stove and oven that sucks worse than my vacuum...
We brought in this table so I could have a place to put the toaster oven and my mixer and the food processor.
Due to the lack of storage space in the apartment we've had to get creative. Behold my sexy pantry. That navy box you see is my portable filing cabinet with all the important papers for our family.
These are our dressers. It's still not enough storage for our clothing. The only place they would fit is the living room...

The boys table where they eat dinner, draw and play. Our disgusting IKEA couch and the corner of my favorite chair

The other half of the couch
Looking at the pathetic kitchen from the livingroom

The boys room. It's so small we have a hard time with the crib and the toddler bed in there. The room is 80" wide

The boys closet and toy storageMy living room and Humphrey our Basset Hound...

This is what happens when I want to use my oven.

PJ showing you the cabinets of death.

We have arranged, and rearranged this cabinet and still when I go to reach for something, something else ALWAYS falls out. The bottom shelf is dedicated to all my baking items
That's it. That's the whole place. Can you see why we have to get out of here?

Our apartment

I keep whining about our current living situation so I thought I'd show you what it looks like...

A little update on our Briarcliff gal since we are going to see her next weekend. Apparently she has been on the market for 2 years now and her price has dropped from $500,000 to $349,200. I think the big trouble with her is that she's right off Route 9a which a lot of people don't like. We don't mind it because we are coming from Hoboken where fools sit right outside our window at all hours of the night and we have cars zooming by all the time. The house is set back from the road a little anyway. If we wind up being in love with her we would invest in fencing the property in all the way around to keep everyone safe and sound (It's my sneaky way of getting that white picket fence I'm dying for)
From the photos it's clear she needs a little updating. She needs paint and she needs her floors redone and her kitchen needs updating in the worst way ever.
I also think it's because her Realtors stink. I had to chase them down and contact them quite a few times before anyone got back to me.
We shall see...

Bored

The Giants are in the football playoffs so Sundays are now football all day.
I'm bored so I thought I'd share some beautiful homes that are commutable from NYC but Mike thinks they are too far...
Since the commute is his and not mine I can't be bitter but I can lust after these homes...
This is one of my favorites that's just out of reach. It's just too far for poor Mike.
Look at the landscaping

This one is in Germantown 4 bedrooms 3,000 sq feet
